In early winter at the High Point Inn in Door County life moves at a slower pace. Despite that slower pace there are still lots of things to do in the “neighborhood.” Check out these early winter happenings:
Fine Line Designs Annual Holiday Open House: Saturday, November 24 – 10-5pm (Right next door to the High Point inn)
This weekend only, the gallery will have holiday drawings where you could receive up to 20% off anything (some restrictions do apply). “A holiday gift from a Door County artist or any artist is very special,” say gallery owner Shari Gransee. “Not only because it supports the community, but because any recipient will truly appreciate an original work of art as a gift.”
Door Community Auditorium presents Ruthie Foster Saturday, November 24 – 7PM (DCA is located in Fish Creek at Gibraltar School)
Those who have followed Ruthie Foster’s eclectic musical history know that she can burn down any stage with her combustible blend of soul, blues, rock, folk and gospel. A singer and songwriter with numerous high-profile awards to her credit, including a Grammy nomination for her 2009 album The Truth According to Ruthie Foster, Foster is also a dynamic performer whose concerts smolder, sizzle and ignite with an intensity born from her vibrant voice and indelible presence.
Christmas Renaissance Style: November 28-29 (various locations and times)
The lively and spirited Milwaukee Renaissance Band brings the music of the 15th and 16th centuries to Prince of Peach Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay and to the Sister Bay Moravian Church on Old Stage Road in Liberty Grove. Call 920-743- 3755 to make reservations for the Sturgeon Bay concert. Both concerts start at 7PM.
