The village of Ephraim has finally approved the Streetscape Project that has been discussed for the last few years.
This project involves many aspects which will be completed in stages due to the amount of work involved. Burying power lines has already started, new decorative streetlights will be installed, and then finally reconstructing State Highway 42.
The work has already begun (March 2019) and is to be finished by June 2019, which means there are some serious detours around Ephraim.
According to the Village of Ephraim’s website: The reconstruction portion of this project will result in a full closure and detour of Highway 42 from March 18, 2019, to May 24, 2019. To accommodate summer tourism traffic the second phase of the project (May 25, 2019, to the end of June 2019) will see construction continue, however, Hwy 42 will be reopened under flagging operations.
On March 18th, Highway 42 was closed to thru traffic. However, all Ephraim businesses will still be accessible.
We know detours can be stressful, therefore we are available to assist you in maneuvering around the construction. We will have printed maps available and can assist you with directions to anywhere you may need to go while staying with us.
